Douglas C. Brown
Dr. Brown has been treating orthopaedic patients in Northeast Louisiana for more than 30 years. An undergraduate of Duke University, Dr. Brown graduated from the University of Virginia Medical School. After his internship at Tulane University School of Medicine and Charity Hospital of New Orleans, he went on to serve in the US Navy as a General Medical Officer and perform orthopaedic surgeries. Dr. Brown completed his residency at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation and E.A. Conway Memorial Hospital and his fellowship at Yale University before moving on to clinical instructor in orthopaedics for the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He is a published author and presenter in orthopaedic specialties.
He has been in private practice in North Louisiana since 1977 and is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.
His membership in the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society allows Dr. Brown access to the latest surgical techniques and cutting edge information regarding the treatment of foot and ankle problems. Additionally, he has the opportunity for in‐depth dialogue with world‐class orthopaedic surgeons sharing the same practice interest.
Dr. Brown is currently active on the medical staff of St. Francis Medical Center of Monroe, Glenwood Regional Medical Center of West Monroe, Physicians and Surgical Hospital, Ouachita Community Hospital, and Monroe Surgical Hospital.
Stephanie Spangler has been part of Dr. Brown’s staff since 2004. Besides seeing patients get better, her favorite aspect of working at the Orthopaedic Center of Monroe is the progressiveness of the office. “We work with the latest technologies available. Dr. Brown is proactive in bringing advanced medical treatments and procedures to our office.”
Stephanie graduated with a bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Louisiana Tech University. After working as a Medical Technologist for Willis Knighton Medical Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, she graduated from LSU Health Sciences Center as a Physician’s Assistant and received her NCCPA certification in October of 2004.
Her professional memberships include the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Louisiana Academy of Physician Assistants, the Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery, and the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science.
